Interview stage
Target accepts applications for multiple positions, but candidates can only take one Target Application Questionnaire in 6 months.
It is important to do your research on the roles available. Apply only to those roles that you believe you have the skill set for. Or the role/specialism that you want to gain experience in and progress your career in.
Target online application
The Target application form is online and linked to each vacancy advertised. Applicants select their preferred vacancy and are then directed to the Target dedicated recruitment portal.
Here candidates create their account and have the option of applying for positions by:
- Uploading their resume
- Linking their LinkedIn profile
- Manually adding the required information
Target Application Questionnaire
The application questionnaire is an essential part of the overall Target recruitment process.
This questionnaire is a mix of a situational judgment test and a personality test. The tests are administered by Kenexa, an organization that works with employers to create specialist psychometric tests for recruitment processes. These tests ensure that candidates recruited for roles possess the required behaviors and competencies.
The Target situational judgment test assesses how a candidate would behave in specific work-based situations. These work scenarios are similar to those that a candidate would face when on the job. The answers are presented as multiple-choice; candidates then rank these answers in order of preference of how they would react.
The situational judgment test is timed and takes around 20 to 30 minutes to complete. The test is timed, so practicing similar tests is advised.
Also included in the Target online application questionnaire is a personality test. This test assesses a candidate’s characteristics and traits against Target’s core values and ethos.
It’s important to remember that there are no right or wrong answers when it comes to answering a personality test. It is crucial to answer the questions as honestly as possible, and not second-guess what you think the recruiter may want to see.
