Sainsburys Verbal Reasoning Tests

The verbal reasoning test comprises of a series of paragraphs which you will be required to read and then answer questions. Your options will be True, False or Cannot Tell. This test will be assessing your analytical skills as well as your comprehension and grammar. Again, these will be timed and so you need to ensure you can leave enough time to read through properly before answering questions.

Sainsburys Personality Test

This is like the SJTs and is likely to be asked depending on the role you are applying for. You will be given various scenarios and will be asked to rank your answers. This is designed to see how you fit into the organisation.

Sainsburys Presentation

You’ll be topic or case study in which you’ll be asked to prepare a presentation on, to be given in front of one of the assessors. You will then be required to answer questions in order to demonstrate your knowledge of the company and how you would work under pressure. Your presentation and analytical skills will also be tested. It’s important to have a good background knowledge of the organisation beforehand.

You may be asked to participate in a role play exercise. This will be based on a scenario provided and you will be assessed on your behaviour, your knowledge and the way you handle certain scenarios. It will be relating to a type of situation that you would be faced with in the job and might be with a customer or a colleague; you will be briefed on the day.

You may be required to participate in group work. This is designed to test your people skills and how you work within a group. You will be required work within the team and process a lot of information given. The tasks will vary so ensure that you have a lot of background knowledge about the company. You will be assessed not just on your ideas but also on how you interact and work within a team.
