Face-to-face interview
The Early Talent hiring process starts with an application during one of the three hiring periods which open in July and close in November. Candidates are allowed to submit a maximum of three applications across the different areas in which Prudential Financial hires.
The initial application is via an online form. Successful candidates are then invited to participate in a digital interview in two parts and take some psychometric tests, followed by a final interview (which can be virtual or in-person).
Prudential Financial online application form
The first stage is to complete the online application form and submit within the specified application period.
You will need to answer questions related to your basic contact details, academic resume and some job-specific questions. You will also need to upload supporting documents.
Prudential Financial video interview (part one)
Successful candidates are then invited to a digital interview using the Hirevue Digital Interview process.
The first stage is part of the initial application process and must be completed within the specified four-day timeframe that will be communicated to you via email.
This ‘digital introduction’ involves answering a maximum of seven behavioral or situational questions at a time and place that suits you.
The digital interview allows for unlimited practice time plus 20 minutes of recorded answers to behavioural questions, to a maximum of seven questions. These questions include enquiries about how you embrace technology, or ask you to describe a time that you exceeded expectations.
For each behavioural or business question asked, you will have 45 seconds to prepare and then two minutes to reply.
Prudential Financial video interview (part two)
Part two of the video interview is a separate interview, also using Hirevue, in which you will be asked one or two business questions per application submitted (for up to 3 business areas).
These questions will be specific to the area applied, but might include asking you to explain the meaning of specific acronyms, e.g. EBITDA or SQL coding.
For each business question asked, you will again have 45 seconds to prepare for and then two minutes to reply.
Prudential Aptitude Tests
Prudential mechanical reasoning tests
Mechanical reasoning tests assess your ability to apply mechanical and physical principles to systems or processes, such as converting units from a table.
You should focus on your reasoning and the instructions rather than applying any prior knowledge.
Prudential personality tests
Personality tests evaluate your personal qualities, such as willingness to cooperate, teamwork, ambition or sensitivity.
You are not required to have any prior knowledge and the idea is to answer the questions as honestly as possible, so that Prudential can assess your fit for the role in question.
### Prudential face-to-face interview
The next stage is a face-to-face interview, which may be online or in-person, depending on the business area. You will be asked further interview questions around your resume and business area, alongside completing other psychometric tests.
You may have multiple interviews with different managers and the questions will be a mix of resume-based questions, behavioural and business questions, going into greater depth than in the previous digital interviews.
